Big trees on small lots. JC was built dense and built early. Ash hit by emerald ash borer. Like the rest of the Southern Tier, JC has lost a lot of ash. A dead ash gets brittle fast and drops limbs without warning - over a tight lot that's a real hazard, and standing-dead ash is one of the most common removals we get called for.
Old-neighborhood street trees. The big maples and oaks lining JC's blocks are beautiful, but decades of topping, storm scars and decay mean a fair number need pruning - or removal - before a limb finds a car or a porch roof.
